Thomas 'cmdln' GideonThe current editor-in-chief of Open Media Review, Thomas “cmdln” Gideon is a hacker, a hacktivist and a podcaster. He has been podcasting since the Summer of 2005 as sole host and producer of The Command Line Podcast, a program exploring the intersection of society and technology and has been blogging for much longer on the same topics. He has been an advocate and user of the Creative Commons licenses pretty much since their inception, following on from years of using and creating free and open software before then. Through the Creative Commons he has explored not just the mechanism of open licensing but the experiences of the creators who have taken these ideas to heart and the taste making that is shaping the audience experience of these works. He is also interested more generally in the questions and issues surrounding free access to knowledge.
